Amazing canal views from rooms, Historic charm of the hotel, Exclusive canal boat rides
The cumbersome check-in process could be streamlined!!! The room decor felt dated and in need of a refresh!!! It's disappointing to find that the internet service was unreliable !!!

This hotel was grand old and I liked it. The rooms were big size and luxurious with lovely view and the beds were extremely comfy. Stayed there for christmas and had an incredible experience, so I will come back.

The breakfast was great with fresh fruit and a bakery, as for instance, we truly enjoyed everything. The location was super, not too far from Dutch Resistance Museum. The check in was efficient and the atmosphere was quiet throughout the hotel. Concierge service, wake up calls, and ironing were free of charge too.

The spa treatments were heavenly, and I enjoyed the sauna to unwind after a long day. I wish the breakfast had a bit more variety, but it didn't take away from the overall great experience 😊

The mints in the hotel restaurant were nice. The Internet service, although pretty expensive was decently fast.
I didn't like the location of the hotel, it is not convenient for anything. Prepare to pay a taxi fare of at least 15 Euros to go anywhere notable. The hotel is old and musty. The service was almost non-existent. It's not a cheap hotel.

My husband and I loved staying at the Intercontinental Amstel. The staff was lovely, and the room both charming and comfortable. We had a great dinner at a window-side table in the Brasserie, watching the evening boat traffic on the Amstel River. This is the 4th Amsterdam hotel we've tried, and the only one we look forward to coming back to.
Welcoming, professional lobby staff Beautiful, spacious room Gorgeous location right on the Amstel River, in a nice neighborhood that has cafes and shops Lovely restaurant and terrace overlooking the river
I didn't love the hair dryer

The Amstel has the charm and character of an old hotel plus every modern luxury. Every staff member I met was very cordial and professional. As an ICH Ambassador member I got a terrific room upgrade and a 16:00 checkout time. At the off-season rate I paid, I got a real bargain. The ICH Amstel is a great hotel and I recommend it very highly.

The penthouse suite offered amazing views and a luxurious experience with its spacious layout and two bathrooms. Breakfast was a highlight, with a delicious smorgasbord that set a wonderful tone for the day. Noise from outside proved disruptive, impacting rest during the night, and some linens in our room seemed past their prime. Improvements could be.
